The NIS explained at a plenary session of the National Assembly's intelligence committee that North Korea has more than 70 kilograms of plutonium and highly enriched uranium, which is enough to make nuclear weapons at least double digits, according to the committee's ruling and opposition party officials.
The NIS diagnosed that North Korea's disclosure of Kim Jong-un's visit to a highly enriched uranium manufacturing facility on the 13th was an act of being conscious of the U.S. ahead of the U.S. presidential election, and could be interpreted as an act of raising residents' confidence internally.
also added that the area where the nuclear facility is located is likely to be a 'strong line' near Pyongyang in the past, but that it is difficult to definitively answer.
The NIS also reported to the National Assembly Intelligence Committee that North Korea's recent test-fire of a new tactical ballistic missile was aimed at verifying its precision strike capability, adding that one out of two missiles reached the target site and improved slightly from the past.
