Yoon Jong-gun, a spokesman for the floor, said in a written briefing, "It is fortunate that those responsible for the Itaewon disaster will be brought to justice even if it is late."
Park Hee-young, the former head of Yongsan-gu District Office, said he put a nail in the heart of the bereaved family, pointing out that most of the government officials who abandoned responsibility in the disaster, which was nothing short of "anarchy," have not yet been properly judged by the law.
The Yoon Suk Yeol government also urged the government to keep in mind that thorough fact-finding and punishment of those responsible are the only ways to prevent the recurrence of the disaster.
