Today (1st), the day of the Armed Forces, Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, where the city march will take place, will be completely closed to the surrounding roads such as Sejong-daero.

Depending on the situation of the troop movement, all buses will also use detours, so you'd better leave your car and use the subway in the downtown area today.

On the 76th anniversary of Armed Forces Day, the cigar march takes place around Gwanghwamun from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

As 340 tanks and other equipment and 5,000 walking troops gather in the center of the city, all parts of Seoul's roads will be controlled.

First of all, the event unit, which departed from Seoul Airport in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, after the morning ceremony, passes a 32-kilometer section across downtown Seoul to Sungnyemun Gate.

Major roads such as Sadang Station and Isu Intersection, which are travel routes, will be controlled in turn according to the troop movement situation.

Vehicles are prohibited from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from the northern end of Sungnyemun Gate and in front of Gwanghwamun, the main stage of the city parade.

The two-way vehicle operation is also restricted on the section from Seosomun Overpass to City Hall Station.

After the march, the roads around Cheong Wa Dae and Jongno, the route for the troops to return, will be closed to two-way traffic until late at night, depending on the situation.

As a result, the bus routes passing through the section will also be significantly adjusted.

126 Seoul city buses, village buses, airport buses, and some Incheon and Gyeonggi buses will use detours.

Instead, the subway will be expanded.

Seoul Subway Lines 2, 3, and 5 will operate between 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to support citizens' movement.

Police and guide personnel will be deployed at the site to manage the crowd to prepare for any safety accidents.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said that you can check the real-time road control situation through Dasan Call Center, TOPOS website, and apps, and asked you to refrain from driving vehicles as much as possible.
