Eight days after President Yoon Suk Yeol had a dinner with the leadership, including representative Han Dong-hoon, he set up a separate meeting with the floor leadership.

In a phone call with YTN, a key official of the People's Power Party explained the nature of the dinner meeting as a normal meal ahead of the parliamentary audit.

However, there are already many interpretations about the timing.

In particular, attention is drawn to the background of a separate meeting with Han Dong-hoon at the end of last month when the dinner with Han Dong-hoon ended virtually empty-handed and the president's office did not respond to repeated requests for a private meeting.

Five opposition lawmakers, including the Democratic Party of Korea, began a sit-in protest in front of the National Assembly's main office last evening, calling for the acceptance of controversial bills such as the Special Prosecutor Act on First Lady Kim and the Special Prosecutor Act on Chae Sang-byung.

They plan to continue the sit-in until the 4th, the deadline for President Yoon's veto, and if President Yoon exercises his veto, they will immediately push for a re-vote.

Opposition lawmakers repeatedly urged the president to accept the bill at a press conference last night, saying it was a clear conflict of interest and unconstitutional to refuse an independent counsel involving himself and his family.

He also shot back at the power of the people, saying he hopes not to participate in the president's unconstitutional actions and become an accomplice to cover up criminal suspicions.
