Iran has launched a large-scale missile attack on Israel, saying it is retaliation for the killing of Hamas, Hezbollah and Revolutionary Guard officials.

While the damage has yet to be confirmed, the U.S. detected signs of a launch just before the attack and shared them with Israel.

I'll connect with the international department to find out more about the situation. Reporter Kim Do Won!

Where and how many missiles were fired?

[Reporter]
Yes, the Israeli military said more than 200 missiles were fired.

Air raid warnings have been issued in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

The missile launch was detected around 7:30 p.m. local time on the 1st, and about an hour and a half before our time.

The Israeli military says the entire population is subject to airstrikes, and all civilians should be evacuated to air raid shelters.

If you look at the foreign media's live broadcast screen, you can see that the air defense network is in operation and interceptor missiles are fired one after another.

Iran has also officially confirmed that it has fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it is retaliation for Hamas leader Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Nasrallah and senior Revolutionary Guard general Nilforushan, who were killed in Israeli attacks.

The damage caused by this attack has not yet been confirmed.

An Israeli military spokesman said no casualties had been caused by Iranian missile strikes so far.

Hours before Iran's missile launch, the U.S. announced an imminent Iranian attack and shared relevant information with Israel.

Israel is also fully prepared for air defense, he said.

Israel, which has long anticipated retaliation from Iran, has warned of serious consequences if it launches an attack.

In response, Iran responded that it would face a much stronger response if Israel retaliated against the attack.

Iran's missile strike following the start of Israel's ground war in Lebanon has raised fears of further escalation of the armed conflict in the Middle East.
