The joint of the Eodeung Bridge passing through the Yeongsan River in downtown Gwangju was broken, and the local government carried out temporary repair measures.

Gwangju Metropolitan City's General Construction Headquarters said yesterday (1st) that the joint of Eodeung Bridge was reported to have been damaged at around 5:40 a.m. and that it was completed in 10 hours.

The road was once closed due to the impact of the renovation, causing severe traffic congestion on the surrounding roads.

The broken joint is a serrated structure that connects the bridge top and serves to safely connect the top plate that stretches or shrinks as the temperature changes.

The construction headquarters believes that there is no impact on bridge safety, and will manufacture new parts of the temporary device and proceed with additional repair work soon.
