UN Secretary-General "condemns escalation of war...Absolutely a ceasefire is needed."

"We absolutely need a ceasefire," U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres said on a series of armed conflicts in the Middle East, including Iran launching large-scale missiles in response to Israel's Hezbollah attack.

Guterres issued a statement on the "recent attacks in the Middle East" and said he condemned the escalation of tensions and the escalation of the war in the Middle East.

Secretary-General Guterres also stressed that the current situation must stop.
