Today (2nd), the KOSPI started at 2,566.55, down 1.03% from the previous trading day.
It continues to weaken by around 1% during the day.
This is due to the frozen investor sentiment as Iran's overnight shelling of Israel has raised concerns that it could lead to an all-out war.
In particular, as U.S. technology stocks plunged, Samsung Electronics' stock price fell below 60,000 won immediately after the opening.
It is the first time in a year and seven months that Samsung Electronics has recorded 50,000 units since March last year.
KOSDAQ also started down 0.86% to 757.3.
The won-dollar exchange rate rose 16 won to 1,323.8 won in the Seoul foreign exchange market.
