The Incheon International Airport Corporation said garbage balloons fell twice in some areas of the airport early this morning, which caused the plane to take off and land for about 15 minutes from 6:14 a.m.
In the meantime, around 8 a.m. this morning, there were reports that white and round objects were floating in the sky in Jongno, Seoul, Gangnam, and Hanam, Gyeonggi-do, and that they were believed to be garbage balloons sprayed from North Korea.
In a related development, authorities urged people to be careful of falling loads and to report them to nearby military units or police instead of getting close to the fallen balloons.
