The Korean Medical University and Medical Graduate Students' Association (U.S. Medical Association) recently demanded the withdrawal of the amendment to the "Regulations on the Evaluation and Certification of Higher Education Institutions" announced by the Ministry of Education, saying it is an attempt to neutralize the certification process of the Korea Institute of Medical Education and Evaluation (UIPE).

The Korea Medical Association claimed that the government pushed for the revision to neutralize the council or avoid certification when the quality of medical school education was expected to decline due to excessive policy to increase medical schools.

He also said that if the Ministry of Education neglects the extra-legal manipulation, new students of medical school 25 will not be recognized as medical personnel by the international community as students of schools that do not comply with international evaluation certifications.

Medical clinics, where 18 of 22 board members are doctors, are the institutions that evaluate medical curriculum, where students from uncertified medical schools are not allowed to take the national examination of doctors.

Recently, the Medical Council has changed the evaluation criteria to increase the number of evaluation items from 15 to 49 from next school year, when the number of medical schools will be increased, and to conduct a major change evaluation every year.
