Prosecutors have demanded a heavy sentence for a man in his 40s who tried to kidnap a woman he saw for the first time in the outdoor parking lot of Jamsil Baseball Stadium and take money and valuables.

The prosecution asked the court today (2nd) to sentence A, a man in his 40s, to eight years in prison at the Seoul Eastern District Court on charges of attempted special robbery.

Mr. A is accused of kidnapping a woman who had no acquaintance in the outdoor parking lot of Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul, at around 9:30 p.m. on August 10 and trying to take money and valuables.

At that time, A reportedly tried to cover and drag the victim's mouth while organizing the trunk of her car to go home after watching a baseball game, but when the victim resisted, she fled and was arrested in Incheon eight days later.

Mr. A, who was homeless, was found to have committed the crime to pay for living expenses, and was found to have planned the crime in advance, such as preparing an electric shock absorber.

The sentencing hearing for A will be held on November 22nd.
