When a lawmaker provided data obtained during the parliamentary audit to civic groups after processing the non-real name, it was ruled that if the pseudonymized business owner suffered damage, he should compensate for the damage.

The Seoul Western District Court ruled that each farmer should pay 100,000 won in alimony in a lawsuit filed by dog farmers against former Justice Party lawmaker Lee Jung-mi and animal protection group Kara.

The court ruled that information processed so that a particular individual could not be identified by deleting or replacing part or all of it is also personal information.

Earlier, former lawmaker Lee partially covered the name of the farm in the "National Dog Breeding Facility Status Data" secured during the 2017 parliamentary audit and handed it over to Kara. When

Kara released the farm name and address on its website, the farmers filed for damages against Lee and Kara, saying the damage was severe, including receiving phone calls to protest.
