A total of 18 people will compete for the professional baseball MVP position, including KIA Kim Do-young, who continued his record streak with 38 home runs and 40 steals, and Lotte's Reyes, who rewrote the record for the most hits ever with 202 hits.

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced the nominees for the KBO League Most Valuable Player Award and the Rookie of the Year Award.

Samsung's Won Tae-in and Koo Ja-wook, as well as SSG's Choi Jeong, were nominated for the Most Valuable Player Award, including Kim Do-young and Reyes.

Six candidates were selected for the Rookie of the Year, including Doosan's closer Kim Taek-yeon, KIA Kwak Do-gyu and Doosan's Choi Ji-gang, SSG Cho Byung-hyun and Jung Joon-jae, and Hanwha's Hwang Young-mook.
