[29th Bu Gukje] 'Lonely Gourmet' in Busan..."Asia will always come to a community, South Korea"

Yutaka Matsushige, who visited Korea with the first theater version of the popular Japanese drama "The Solitary Gourmet," expressed her extraordinary affection for Korea and other Asian countries.

Today (3rd), Yutaka Matsushige, an actor and director of the 29th Busan International Film Festival's open cinema section, was held at the Video Industry Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan.

"The Movie," the first theater version of "The Solitary Gourmet," which has been loved for 12 years, tells the story of Goro, who was asked to find a soup he tasted as a child by an old man, going to Japan, France, and Korea to find an unknown soup.

Unlike TV dramas, which focused on scenes where people ate deliciously without any special stories, the theater version was equipped with a dramatic structure and reinforced comedy elements. On top of that, Yutaka Matsushige is holding a megaphone himself, raising expectations for long-time fans. He said he has a special heart because

dramas have a strong fan base in Korea and many Asian countries beyond Japan.

Yutaka Matsushige said, "It is still surprising that many people in East Asian countries, including Korea, China, and Taiwan, enjoy and love the 'Lonely Gourmet' series. I don't know what you're enjoying when you're just eating," he said with a big smile.

He then said, "Maybe there is something that I feel in common in East Asia. Honestly, there are many things I don't know, but I think Asia is a civilized community. I sincerely think we should walk hand in hand together, he said. "I think we can connect between countries through the work and get better."

In addition, Yutaka Matsushige said, "If there are people who love this work, I am determined to come to Korea at any time. If it helps, I will devote my life to cultural exchange through my work.

Meanwhile, "Lonely Gourmet The Movie" will be released for the first time at the Busan International Film Festival before its release in Japan in January 2025. Later, the movie will be released in Korea in March next year.
