President Yoon Suk Yeol will make a state visit to the Philippines and Singapore for a six-day visit from the 6th, hold a summit, and attend the Korea-ASEAN summit in Laos.

Kim Tae-hyo, the first deputy chief of the National Security Office, held a briefing today and said President Yoon will hold summit meetings with the Philippines and Singapore, respectively, to discuss ways to strengthen relations and cooperate between the two countries.

He then moved to Laos and said he would attend the ASEAN-Korea Summit and the ASEAN+3, that is, a series of summits with the leaders of Korea, China, and Japan.

An official from the presidential office said that the Korea-Japan summit is also being discussed on the premise that Japan's new Prime Minister Ishiba will attend the ASEAN meeting, and that it will be meaningful for the leaders of Korea and Japan to face each other for the first time and continue the purpose of shuttle diplomacy.

However, he added that the three-nation summit between Korea, China and Japan was held in Seoul in May, so it is unlikely to be promoted by the ASEAN meeting. In addition to the summit meetings in the Philippines and Singapore, President
Yoon will continue his state dinner, attend business forums, and visit Korean companies. In particular, he will give a speech on the vision of unification of the Korean Peninsula at the Singapore Lecture hosted by the Singaporean Government-affiliated Research Institute.

Deputy Director Kim Tae-hyo said President Yoon will visit the Philippines to take the cooperation between the two countries to the next level and support Korean companies in winning orders for large infrastructure projects to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
