For the first time in the history of professional baseball's wild card game, kt, the fifth-ranked team in the regular league, beat Doosan in fourth place to advance to the semi-playoff.

KT beat Doosan 1-0 in the second game of the wild card game at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul and confirmed its advance to the semi-playoff with two consecutive wins thanks to starter Benjamin's seven scoreless innings and Kang Baek-ho's winning hit in the sixth inning.

This is the first time since the introduction of the wild card decider in 2015 that the fifth-ranked team has caught the fourth-ranked team and reached the semi-playoff.

The day after tomorrow (5th) at 2 p.m. at Jamsil Stadium, KT will play the first round of the semi-playoff against LG, third place in the regular league, which fought for the Korean Series title last season.
