Ukrainian forces struck the Russian "Nebo-M" radar system, according to local daily Kyiv Independent, without giving an exact timing and location.
It also added that the destruction of the radar would open an "airway" to more effectively use Western-backed long-range missiles. The
'Nevo-M' radar system is a radar system that detects stealth fighters and long-range ballistic missiles such as F-22.
The newspaper said only 10 "Nevo-M" radars are estimated to be available for Russian forces.
Ukraine also says it has sent drones to Russia's Borisoglevsk military airfield, some 200 kilometers from the northeastern border, to attack arms stores, fighter hangars and aviation fuel storage facilities.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry has officially announced that it has captured Buhledar, Donetsk Province, which is considered a key eastern frontline site.
In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the retreat, saying "the soldiers who withdrew are also Ukrainian citizens" and that "it was the right thing to do to get out of there and protect their lives."
