For the first time, the 'Nara Sarang Educational Cultural Center', an educational research facility, opened in Cheongnam University, the former presidential retreat.

It is the first educational building since the revision of the water source management rules, which contains deregulation of water source protection zones, was implemented in August.

Cheongnamdae, the former presidential villa that was transferred to Chungcheongbuk-do in 2003.

Development has been restricted by being tied to a water source protection zone, but the implementation of the water source management rules containing deregulation in August opened the way for development.

For the first time in more than a month after the enforcement of the management rules, the "Nara Sarang Educational Cultural Center", an educational research facility, was built in Cheongnam University.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and Chungcheongbuk-do Province spent 19.7 billion won on state and provincial expenses to build one basement level and three floors above the ground.

It is a facility that can accommodate 72 people, and operates nature and veterans education programs for youth and men of merit.

Although an average of 2,200 visitors visited Cheongnam University a day, it suffered a deficit of nearly 5 billion won every year because various facilities could not be installed due to development regulations.

With the lifting of regulations, Chungcheongbuk-do expects that the deficit will be reduced by installing educational facilities such as educational cultural centers as well as various convenience facilities such as canteen and restaurant.

In particular, if the Cheongnam University Monorail, which is being promoted as an operating goal, is installed next year, it is expected that the number of visitors will increase significantly as well as guaranteeing the right to move for the underprivileged.

The Education and Culture Center will go into full operation next year after a pilot operation.
