According to data submitted by Kang Kyung-sook of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, a member of the National Assembly's Education Committee, from Seoul National University on the 4th, none of the first-year medical students (142 registered students) applied for the course in the second semester of this year.
In the second year of medicine preparation (154 students in total), only two and nine students applied for classes in only two of the 16 classes (real 2, free subject exploration of medical research), respectively.
The number of students who paid tuition for the second semester of this year (as of September 16) was 31 first-year medical students (21.8% of the total) and 33 second-year students (21.4%) who applied for the course, but few applied for the course.
Meanwhile, it has been found that Seoul National University has never officially recorded a case of running the first and second semesters at the same time since its opening.
Lawmaker Kang Kyung-sook said, "The second semester has started, but medical students are still not returning. According to the government's policy, universities operate unprecedented academic programs, but they have already been virtually paid," he said, stressing the need for fundamental measures.
