Four representatives of labor, management, and government gathered together and agreed to regularize social dialogue to make meaningful changes for future generations.

The Economic and Social Labor Commission, a social dialogue organization under the President, held a meeting of representatives from labor, management, and government today with Chairman Kwon Ki-sup, Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Trade Unions Kim Dong-myung, and Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation Son Kyung-sik.

At the meeting, Chairman Kwon Ki-sup said, "We should give hope to the young generation amid the crisis of polarization and inequality," and "Let's make meaningful changes toward future survival and sustainable growth."

Minister Kim Moon-soo said labor reform is our calling of the times, and emphasized that labor, management, and government should join forces to protect the weak.

Chairman Kim Dong-myung also emphasized the need to resolve what can be sorted out first and show responsibility for agendas with large differences in positions.

Chairman Sohn Kyung-sik mentioned that we should have a social dialogue for future generations to create quality youth jobs by increasing the flexibility of the labor market.

Participants agreed to exchange opinions on the formation of committees by class, including youth, and to regularize bimonthly meetings of representatives from labor, management and government in the future.

It is the first time in eight months that a meeting of four representatives from labor, management, and government has been held since February, and the first time since Minister Kim Moon-soo and Chairman Kwon Ki-sup took office last month.
