Son Heung-min, the captain of the national soccer team, who has missed his team's games in a row due to a thigh injury, has been excluded from the list of the second consecutive World Cup qualifiers starting on the 10th.

The Korea Football Association said Son Heung-min needs a break due to a left thigh injury, so he decided to exclude him from the call-up list to protect the player.

Son Heung-min was replaced after feeling pain in his thigh in the Europa League game on the 26th of last month, and is rehabbing after failing to play in two consecutive games.

Coach Hong Myung-bo has included Hong Hyun-suk, who plays for Mainz, Germany, on the list instead.

The national soccer team will play an away game in Jordan on the 10th and then face Iraq in Yongin on the 15th.
