The Joint Chiefs of Staff said North Korea flew more than 320 garbage balloons from dawn to afternoon today (4th), and more than 120 drops were found in Gyeonggi Province and Seoul.
Most of the contents are paper, plastic, and plastic bottles, and there are no substances that are harmful to safety.
In a related development, police said they received 540 reports of sightings of garbage balloons from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. this morning, and 30 of them fell within their area and handed them over to the military authorities.
On the 2nd, North Korea also provided 150 balloons containing household waste, and about 60 fell in Gyeonggi Province and Seoul.
