Pay-per-view tickets have even appeared ahead of the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, which attracted a million people last year.

In some cases, hotel accommodation tickets are sold for more than money, or there are cases where they preoccupy seats by laying mats in advance.

Reporter Bae Min-hyuk reports.

Preparations for the fireworks festival at the Han River are in full swing.

When 1 million people flocked last year, paid seats appeared this year to prevent accidents.

2,500 reservation tickets were sold for 165,000 won each, and even a second-hand trading site said they were resold for 250,000 won.

Invitation seats distributed free of charge are also traded for about 100,000 won.

There are no spare rooms in hotels famous for having a good view of the fireworks festival, and there is even an article saying that they will transfer their accommodation tickets for more than money.

Restaurants known for their famous fireworks festivals are not easy to find window seats.

[Staff of a nearby restaurant: There's no window. There are seats behind the window. I can see the back seat, but there's a pillar in the front. If you don't see it, it drops from 180,000 won to 100,000 won.]

The Han River Park, where you can freely see the fireworks festival, is also fiercely competing to take the lead.

It's a so-called Myeongdang spot where you can see the fireworks festival up close.

From a day before the event, you can see the mats laid out to keep the seats.

[Festival visitor: There will be a lot of people at the fireworks festival tomorrow, so come and get a seat.... I went home and came early tomorrow morning....]

Organisers say revenue from paid seat sales will be reinvested to manage fireworks festival safety
When entering the
seat, I asked you to be careful as we plan to verify your identity by checking your ID and cancel the illegally traded tickets.
