Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi makes an unannounced visit to Lebanon, where Israeli airstrikes and ground fighting are in full swing, to meet with Lebanese officials.

Arakchi arrived in Beirut on the morning of the 4th local time to discuss the war between Israel and Hezbollah with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and others.

Minister Arakchi's visit comes as Israel declared retaliation after Iran, the center of the Middle East's "axis of resistance," fired a number of ballistic missiles at Israel on the 1st and launched a large-scale airstrike.

AFP explained that it is the first time a senior Iranian official has visited Lebanon since Israeli air strikes in Beirut killed Hezbollah head Hassan Nasrallah on the 27th of last month.
