The price of cabbage has become 'gold cabbage' due to the lack of supply due to the heat wave, and it is simply crossing the 'cabbage barley Pass'.

At the mart, the number of cabbage purchases is limited, and packaged kimchi is empty.

With the average price per waiver falling to 8,000 won in two weeks, the government expects prices to stabilize from the middle of this month.

Consumers who check the price of cabbage at the mart.I'm surprised by the price of

'gold cabbage'.

" (Price) Goes crazy, Goes crazy"

The frustration is growing due to the high rise of cabbage, an essential ingredient for our table.

[Lee Eun-mi / Oksu-dong, Seoul: I could have bought two at this price, but now I'm not sure if I should buy one or not. It's too expensive. It's a must-eat dish.]

Packaging kimchi is also being released on a limited basis in the mart due to a lack of raw material supply, and the search for products continues.

The retail price of a cabbage counted by the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation is 8,848 won.

Compared to the nearly 10,000 won a week ago, it seems a little calming, but it is still 28% higher than last year.

The key is whether it will last until the middle of this month when autumn cabbage is released, and agricultural observation reports show that wholesale cabbage prices will rise 38.4% this month from a year ago.The price of radish

is also fluctuating, and it is predicted to rise 62.7% to 18,000 won per 20kg, raising concerns that the price of kimchi-related vegetables may rise further ahead of the full-fledged kimchi-making season.

The government is taking all-out measures by extending support for cabbage discounts until the 9th and increasing imports of Chinese cabbage, but it is unclear whether it will be effective in stabilizing table prices as other vegetable prices are unusual.
