Six North Korean officers have been killed in a Ukrainian missile attack in a Russian-occupied area near Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian media reported.

According to the U.S. Radio Free Asia (RFA), the Ukrainian media Kyiv Post reported that more than 20 soldiers, including six North Korean officers, were killed in a Ukrainian missile attack the day before local time.

He also said more than three North Korean soldiers were injured and transferred to Moscow for treatment.

Quoting Ukrainian intelligence sources, Kyiv Post said they were killed at nearby training sites, and North Korean officers were sent as training instructors.

Earlier last year, Ukrainian intelligence disclosed information that North Korean military personnel, including engineering units, were operating in Russian-occupied areas.

The Ukrainian government has also claimed that Russia is planning to mobilize North Korean workers for various construction projects in occupied areas such as Donetsk and Luhansk.

After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Russia is said to have become closer to North Korea militarily.
