Amid the growing severity of climate change, environmental issues are also a hot topic in the performing world.

Even if the theme is not presented directly like an environmental concert, more and more people are sending messages, such as drawing lessons from living with nature in Korean traditional music or connecting performances with second-hand marketplaces.

Reporter Park So-jung reports.

'Tell the sky in order of life'

It is 'Sujecheon' which is a royal music that has been handed down since the Baekje period 1,500 years ago.

Our traditional music, which contains the spirit of respecting nature and living together, has been reborn as a Western orchestra.

The theme is "Song for Life".

Media art has been added to clearly convey the message that the spirit of sujicheon, which blends with nature, is necessary.

[Choi Woo-jung / Composer of "Soujecheon Lysarounds" : It was traditional music to go in harmony and balance (with nature), but as we enter modern times, individuals control all musical elements, so we can see it as a relationship between humans and civilization.]

A special performance by a 90-year-old traditional art master, a stage without front, back, left, and right, and a gutpan combined with electronic music, etc.

The 'Sync Next' performance, which has been breaking down genres for three years and showcasing creative and experimental performances, has joined hands with used markets.

After the performance, we opened a flea market that sells used goods like an after party festival. It was planned in that the audience of

Sync Next' is the MZ generation who is interested in environmental issues.

[Kim A-rim / Head of the Sejong Center for Performing Arts: Used items were all worth more than art collections, so many younger generations looked for them. Banners and other items used at the event were made into bags and resold.]

Organizers explain that they were able to reduce carbon emissions as much as 5,500 used transactions and 50 laps of the Earth by car in two days.

Even if there is no direct slogan, such as an environment-themed concert or a performance hosted by environmental groups, the sense of crisis about climate change tends to melt into the performance in various forms.
