President Yoon Suk Yeol, who will travel to Southeast Asia for five nights and six days, said he would send a clear message at the ASEAN summit that the international community would not tolerate North Korea's reckless actions that threaten peace around the world. In a written interview with the Associated Press, President Yun

said there is a possibility that North Korea will continue to carry out additional provocations such as nuclear tests and ICBM launches to attract the attention of the United States and the international community.

The South Korean government is thoroughly monitoring North Korea's movements through South Korea-U.S. joint surveillance and reconnaissance assets, and warned that North Korea will face unbearable responses in the event of continuous trash balloon provocations that harm public safety.

He stressed that the Korea-U.S. alliance will continue to develop solidly regardless of the results of the U.S. presidential election as there is solid bipartisan support in the U.S., and predicted that Korea-Japan relations will be able to continue to develop with the new prime minister.
