China "U.S. President Biden Celebrates National Day to Xi Jinping"

U.S. President Joe Biden has sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping for China National Day, China's foreign ministry says.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson recently said that President Biden congratulated President Xi on the 75th anniversary of China's founding by sending a telegram.

President Biden congratulated the Chinese people on behalf of the American people at the celebration, the spokesman said.

Hong Kong's "South China Morning Post" pointed out earlier that the U.S. State Department, which used to issue an official congratulatory statement ahead of China's National Day, broke its practice this year and issued a congratulatory message in the name of the Secretary of State on the 3rd.
