The People's Power urged the Democratic Party to express its position, saying that the Democratic Party has remained awkwardly silent about the drunk driving accident of former President Moon Jae In's daughter Da-hye.

Shin Joo-ho, a full-time deputy spokesman, issued a comment, saying, "Since representative Lee Jae-myung is a drunk driving ex-convict, the Democratic Party of Korea thinks drunk driving is okay."

Moon, who said he would not tolerate the many suspicions his father received, said, "Is it a drunk crime?" and stressed that former President Moon deserves strong punishment as he said drunk driving is a murder in the past.

Rep. Kim Jang-gyeom also criticized on his SNS, saying that a person who lived with him at Cheong Wa Dae said drunk driving was murder, and that no matter how sophisticated his father's words are, he should listen.

Rep. Kim Hee-jung also said, "Former President Moon said the right thing about drunk driving in the past," and asked, "What would the Democratic Party have said if the ruling party's president or the family of a leading politician had caused such an accident?"
