The People's Power criticized the Democratic Party of Korea and the Cho Kuk Innovation Party's unification of candidates for the Busan Geumjeong-gu District Office by-election, saying it was an unwarranted alliance and irresponsible behavior that ignored voters and abandoned the future of the region.

Spokesman Chung Kwang-jae issued a comment, saying, "Unification that ignores the public's standards is nothing more than a political play."

Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, then said, "We will bring down the president" in the election to select local workers, and pointed out that the unification is also an extension of "self-bulletproof" for his political survival.

Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho also said that a tight election is expected in Busan's Geumjeong-gu by-elections over the unification of opposition candidates, but he expects meaningful results if he does his best with lawmakers.
