Pohang MBC president who claimed unfair dismissal...Grand Code "Company compensates for 400 million won"

The Supreme Court ruled that the company should pay 400 million won to the former president of Pohang MBC, who was dismissed for being responsible for the strike.

On the 12th of last month, the Supreme Court confirmed the lower court's ruling that some of the plaintiffs won the damages lawsuit filed by former Pohang MBC President Oh Jung-woo against the company.

After taking office in December 2017, former MBC president Seungho Choi dismissed all 16 local MBC presidents regardless of their remaining terms, citing responsibility for the "long-term broadcasting disruptions" and deteriorating management performance.

As a result, former President Oh, who took office in March 2017 for a three-year term, was also dismissed from the general shareholders' meeting in March of the following year.

In response, former president Oh filed a lawsuit asking for the remaining term wages, saying that the dismissal was unfair, and the first and second trials that followed ruled that some of the plaintiffs won, saying they could not hold former president Oh responsible for the strike.
