According to data submitted by the Credit Recovery Committee to the office of Rep. Kang Joon-hyun of the Democratic Party of Korea, 17,753 people applied for prompt debt adjustment among those earning more than 3 million won per month last year, seven times more than 1,524 in 2021.
This shows a big difference compared to a 4.8-fold increase in monthly income of more than 2 million won to less than 3 million won, a 2.7-fold increase in income of more than 1 million won to less than 2 million won, and a 2.3-fold increase in less than 1 million won.
Representative Kang Joon-hyun said, "It shows that the high-interest rate trend and rising prices have made the lives of the middle class worse," and diagnosed that proper financial safety nets or relief measures should be prepared even now.
