Prosecutors have launched a forced investigation into Hong Won-sik, former chairman of Namyang Dairy Products, who was sued by the management for embezzling company money.
The prosecution suspects that former chairman Hong stole the company's money over a decade and used it for art purchases or travel expenses.

The prosecution conducted a simultaneous search and seizure of more than 10 places, including Namyang Dairy's headquarters office and former chairman Hong Won-sik's home.
It is to investigate former chairman Hong's alleged embezzlement worth 20 billion won.
Namyang Dairy Co., Ltd. sued Hong and three executives in August, saying they suspected they embezzled some 20.12 billion won, or 2.97 percent of the company's equity capital.
Former chairman Hong promoted that Namyang Dairy Products 'Bulgaris' had a COVID-19 virus suppression effect in 2021.withdrew due to controversy over false advertising,
The embezzlement situation was revealed after an internal audit with the largest shareholder changed earlier this year.
In this regard, the prosecution called officials from Namyang Dairy Co., Ltd., Lee Kwang-beom, and former representatives Lee Won-gu as witnesses in succession to investigate.
Prosecutors reportedly found circumstantial evidence that former chairman Hong siphoned off company money through intermediaries for more than a decade in the process of exporting dairy products to China.
Former chairman Hong suspects that such useful money was used for overseas travel or art purchases.
In this regard, Namyang Dairy Co. has filed a lawsuit for the return of tens of billions of won worth of artworks purchased by former chairman Hong with company money, saying they were transferred to their personal names without due process.
On the other hand, the legal dispute continues, with Chairman Nam demanding 44 billion won in severance pay from the company.
