Polls show that the gap in approval ratings between Vice President Harris and former President Trump has narrowed since the TV debate for the vice presidential candidate.

According to Yahoo News' poll of 1,700 adults in the U.S. last week, Harris and Trump's approval ratings were 48 percent to 46 percent, down from 50 percent to 45 percent in the same survey last month.

The survey was conducted for three days after a TV debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance on the 1st, with a margin of error of ±3%p.

For multilateral confrontations, including third candidates, Harris narrowed the gap further to 46% Trump 45%, while the two candidates were tied at 47% when the target was limited to those willing to vote, not registered voters.

Yahoo News said the impact of the vice president's TV debate would have been minimal, raising the possibility that Harris' approval rating, which has temporarily risen since the September presidential debate, may have fallen out and returned to a statistical deadlock.

Forty-one percent of respondents who watched the vice presidential TV debate said Vance was the winner, outpacing Walls by 9 percentage points, but in the favorability survey, Walls outpacing Vance by 6 percentage points with 43 percent.
