The Ministry of Science and ICT said in a filing to Rep. Kim Jang-kyum's office that it checked Google's implementation of its telecommunications disaster management plan in June and notified him of recommendations to correct deficiencies in mid-August.
The recommendation for correction is not a violation of the law, but it is a measure that judges that it is insufficient for the Ministry of Science and ICT's own standards.
The Ministry of Science and ICT pointed out that the inspection did not reflect the revised law in Google's guidelines for securing service stability and that the communication disaster management manager was trained, but the history management was not properly performed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Science and ICT also inspected Kakao and Naver in May and June, respectively, and issued corrective orders and recommendations.
