The K-drama "Winter Sonata," starring actors Choi Ji-woo and Bae Yong-joon, who led the Korean Wave in the 2000s, will be released as a theater movie in Japan due to improved picture quality.

Fan Entertainment, the producer of "Winter Sonata," said, "We decided to make a movie after receiving continuous requests from Japanese distributors and viewers to mark the 20th anniversary of the drama's screening in Japan. We are working on editing with the aim of releasing it in the winter of 2025 in Japan."The film adaptation of

'Winter Sonata adds speciality by implementing theater quality through 4K high-definition upscaling and color-correcting existing drama images with the film's film-look. Sound quality will also be worked with 5.1 channels and high sound quality, and OST of existing dramas will also be orchestrated and re-recorded.

Director Yoon Seok-ho, who directed the original drama, will participate in the entire film production process, and music directors Lee Ji-soo, such as movies "Old Boy" (2003) and "Silmido" (2003), will also participate.
