Taiwan's TSMC, the world's largest foundry and semiconductor consignment producer, will deliver the price per high-tech 2-nanometer process wafer for about $30,000 Korean won, Taiwanese media, including the Industrial and Commercial Times, reported, citing sources.
The source said TSMC will price its 2-nano process products, which are scheduled to be mass-produced starting in 2025.
The source explained that the price per 2 nanos product will be twice the price of the existing 4 nanos and 5 nanos.
Taiwanese media explained that TSMC's price increase shows confidence in its technology following the exclusive supply of advanced wafers.
Earlier, Taiwanese media reported in early August that TSMC had started to raise prices by 8% for its flagship 3-nano and 5-nano process products thanks to the global AI boom.
