Choi Soo-jin, a member of the People's Power, pointed out at the parliamentary audit of the National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information, Broadcasting and Communication Committee today (8th) that LTE plans have become more expensive as telecommunication companies have lowered 5G rates three times to rationalize rates and created a mid- to low-end rate system.
In response, Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT, said he would strengthen guidance and push for system improvement so that users would not be disadvantaged.
Officials from SK Telecom, KT, and LG U+ are also aware of this phenomenon and said they will reorganize their rates or induce consumers to move to 5G to prevent a "reversal phenomenon."
