The Office for Government Policy Coordination held a working-level meeting on combating illegal private finance at the Seoul Government Complex yesterday, and Google discussed and confirmed the self-regulatory measures after consulting with the Financial Supervisory Service.
Google's domestic "financial service certification" process requires advertisers who want to advertise financial products to be certified by financial authorities before posting advertisements, such as checking whether they match the information of licensed and registered financial companies.
The Office for Government Policy Coordination said it was the first overseas online platform operating in Korea to introduce self-regulation, and that it plans to support certification policies to settle and continue to discuss other platforms.
