A heavy sentence has been confirmed for a man in his 60s who set his body on fire and killed him while arguing with an acquaintance.

The Supreme Court confirmed the original ruling, which sentenced Kim, in his 60s, to 35 years in prison on charges of murder and violating the Special Act on the Prevention of Insurance Frauds.

In November last year, Kim was indicted on charges of pouring gasoline into the body of a victim he had known in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, and then lighting it to kill him.

In addition, he is accused of moving the victim to a hospital immediately after the crime, paying for some medical expenses, and falsely stating that the victim was accidentally injured, earning 8 million won in daily liability insurance in his name.

Kim lost money while gambling with the victim at the time, and when the victim tried to leave, saying he would stop gambling, he committed the crime out of spite.

Kim claimed that he did not intend to kill during the trial, but he did not accept both the first and second trials and ordered 35 years and 10 years in prison to attach location tracking electronic devices, and the Supreme Court's judgment was the same.
