North Korea to test fire additional 240-mm multiple rocket launchers

North Korea has conducted additional test fire to verify the performance of 240mm multiple rocket launchers with induction functions, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

The agency said the National Defense Research Institute conducted a test-fire test of 240mm-controlled multiple rocket launchers produced by the National Defense Industry Corporation under the Second Economic Council yesterday.

The inspection test fire was carried out ahead of the actual deployment, and the communication aimed to verify the reliability of the automatic shooting system and reconfirm the accuracy of the target for the maximum range of 67 kilometers, and Kim Yo-jung, vice chairman of the Workers' Party, and others attended.

The 240mm-controlled multiple rocket launcher is an addition to the existing 240mm multiple rocket launcher, and North Korea, which disclosed its development in February, conducted related test fires in April, May and August and announced that it would be deployed to frontline units by 2026.
