Israel's military says an airlift brigade operating in southern Lebanon has found and dismantled storage underground of a residential building for hundreds of weapons.
Israel's military said it hit more than 100 Hezbollah targets, bombing the Dahiye region south of the Lebanese capital Beirut, a major hub for Hezbollah, and destroying rocket launchers targeting Israel.
"Dahiye is different from the rest of Beirut," said Daniel Hagari, a senior spokesman for the Israeli military, stressing that "this is where Hezbollah's decisions are made and strategic weapons are made and hidden inside and outside civilian buildings."
Hezbollah, meanwhile, has fired dozens of rockets into northern Israel, it said.
The Times of Israel, citing local emergency services, reported that 20 rockets flew into the Kiryat Simona area, killing two local residents who were taking a walk.
It is also known that fire teams are extinguishing fires in several buildings in the area.
Hezbollah said in a statement that "the attack targeted the gathering sites of Israeli enemy forces."
