A powerful tornado broke out across Florida in the U.S. ahead of Hurricane Milton's landfall.

A large tornado broke out near Miami Highway 75 on the morning of the 9th local time, prompting disaster authorities to urgently recommend evacuation.

The damage caused by the tornado is still unknown.

Earlier, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for more than 20 counties in Miami, Tampa and the Florida Key area.

The agency warned that more than 12 million residents across Florida are facing the threat of hail and tornadoes.
