Park Beom-gye of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's National Defense Committee, said that since the beginning of the parliamentary conflict, medical school students or graduates' support for active-duty soldiers has increased significantly.

Lawmaker Park said the number of active duty applicants for medical school graduates was 2,428 by August this year, up 4.8 times from the entire period of last year and 7.6 times from 2022.

As a result, the red light will be turned on for the recruitment of military doctors and public health in the future, and it will adversely affect medical policies in the future, urging the government to come up with measures as soon as possible.
