Today (10th), the production company of the play "Waiting for Godot" announced on its social media (SNS) account that it was canceling the performance due to the health of its lead actor Lee Soon-jae.
The production company explained, "The teacher (Lee Soon-jae) expressed his willingness to stand on stage to keep his lifelong belief that he should keep his promise to the audience, but he decided to cancel the performance due to the doctor's strong recommendation that he needs a break."
This work, which opened last month, is a comedy play that homages the play "Waiting for Godot," and Lee Soon-jae is playing the main character in the play, Ester.
As a result, Lee Soon-jae's master-class lecture "70-year acting philosophy" has also been postponed indefinitely. It was scheduled for the 12th as an event where Lee Soon-jae explained the attitude and acting philosophy of actors to children and teenagers who want to become actors.
The Korea Culture and Arts Education Promotion Agency, the organizer, said, "We will hold an event when actor Lee Soon-jae recovers his health in the future."
Lee Soon-jae, who was born in 1935, has recently been active in the drama "Dogsori."
