Kim Myung-soo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he thinks North Korea is trying to cut off the inter-Korean land route completely and block the outflow of internal personnel to the announcement of fortification.

Chairman Kim responded to a related question from Sung Il-jong, chairman of the National Defense Commission, a member of the People's Power, at the Joint Chiefs of Staff's parliamentary audit held today.

He then evaluated that the Kim Jong-un regime is isolating itself by building a barrier in the northern part of the Demilitarized Zone, and is making an irrational move to block the leakage from the inside.

The inter-Korean land route also includes the East Sea Line, Gyeongui Line, National Route 7, and Arrowhead Hill, explaining that the East Sea Line and Gyeongui Line, which are railways, began laying landmines in December last year and completed the removal of sleeper and rail in August this year.

In addition, when asked about the current possibility of a war with North Korea, Park Chan-dae of the Democratic Party of Korea said that the possibility of a war with North Korea is not that high at this time.
