The Seoul High Court ruled that some of the plaintiffs won the damages suit filed by CEO Cho and his two children against Se-yeon and Kim Se-eui, and former management Kang Yong-seok.
The court decided that Se-yeon and the cast should pay a total of 45 million won to Cho's family, but the amount of compensation was slightly reduced compared to the first trial, which decided to pay 50 million won in total. From August 2019,
Gang and others broadcast a series of contents such as Cho Min driving a Porsche car through Gaseyeon, and filed a lawsuit claiming 300 million won for CEO Cho and his children for false information and defamation.
The first trial acknowledged the liability for compensation, saying that they defamed CEO Cho and his family or violated their personal rights by revealing false facts and caused significant mental damage.
Regarding Cho Min's remarks that he rides a Porsche, CEO Kim and Kang were indicted on charges of defamation under the Information and Communication Network Act, but were finally acquitted by the Supreme Court last month.
