The two candidates showed a big difference in their view of 'education'.

The most distinct policy is the method of diagnosing academic background.

Cho Jeon-hyuk, a candidate in the conservative camp, nailed it, saying, "I will make the prime of evaluation."

He said he did not mean to line up grades, but said he would provide customized education by conducting diagnostic tests from elementary school.Schools that received

lower evaluations will take measures such as sending competent teachers and principals, and a school evaluation office will be established to handle these tasks.

[Cho Jeon-hyuk / Seoul Superintendent of Education Candidate: The superintendent is the CEO of public education. It is only natural for a CEO to manage the quality of the services he provides. We will establish a school evaluation office under the Office of Education to accurately measure and evaluate the school's educational power to dramatically improve the quality of educational services.]

On the other hand, Chung Geun-sik of the progressive camp presented a completely different vision.

Candidate Chung raised his voice that the process, not the result, should be evaluated.

At the same time, he emphasized that the direction of future education is humanity and creativity that artificial intelligence cannot replace.

It also said that it will develop an educational polarization index to support students in areas with low educational background, and create a learning diagnosis and healing center to diagnose and improve the cause of the sluggishness.

[Jung Geun-sik / Seoul Superintendent of Education Candidate: Sensitivity education that was neglected by knowledge-oriented education in the past, personality to cooperate with colleagues, and education that checks what you know should be changed to education that checks what you can do. I will move on to a 'future-type academic background' that creatively solves problems.

There are also policy differences for the protection of teaching rights.

Candidate Cho Jeon-hyuk said he will operate a call center so that teachers do not directly respond to civil petitioners.

Candidate Chung Geun-sik promised to reduce the number of students per class to less than 20 and abolish the teacher competency development evaluation.

Candidate Choi Bo-sun, who is also running in this election, pledged to implement a two-teacher system in the first class of elementary school and provide teachers with sabbaticals every 10 years.

Candidate Yun Ho-sang said he will significantly increase the budget for kindergartens and after-school institutions and create an all-day care system for infants to reduce the burden on parents.
