Earlier this month, Korea's exports increased by more than 30% from the same period last year.

The Korea Customs Service said exports rose 33.2% from a year ago to $15.3 billion from the 1st to the 10th.

By major items, semiconductor exports increased 45.5%, passenger cars increased 28.9%, and ships increased 265%.

On the other hand, exports of petroleum products and wireless communication devices fell 23.6% and 9.7%, respectively.

Imports expanded 33.2% in one year to $17.5 billion during the same period, leaving the trade balance in deficit of $2.2 billion so far this month.

Korea's exports have continued to increase for 12 consecutive months until last month.
